Leading #2 Hutchinson to a pair of Jayhawk West wins this week, Lady Dragon freshman Cynthia Petke has been named the KJCCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for week 9.  

Hutchinson freshman forward Cynthia Petke helped get the No. 2 Blue Dragons off to a strong start in Jayhawk West play with a pair of victories where she averaged 19.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in wins over Garden City and Butler. Petke shot 60.0 percent from the field and averaged 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game last week.

Against Garden City, Petke had 16 points and nine rebounds with a season-high-tying five assists and two steals in a 69-60 victory over Garden City. Then against Butler, Petke posted her seventh double-double of the season with 22 points and 16 rebounds in a 75-36 victory over the Grizzlies. Petke added three assists and a season-high five steals.
