Spring 2021 Sports Schedules Released
(KJCCC) August 25, 2020 -- The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) has released their comprehensive spring sports schedule for 2021. Many fall sports will have their seasons in the spring of 2021, following the guidance set forth by the NJCAA. Up-to-date schedules will be loaded in to individual sports pages on the conference website in the coming days.
"We're glad we have the opportunity for the fall season sports to get the chance to compete in the spring," said Carl Heinrich, KJCCC commissioner. Fall / Winter sports moving to the spring include soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, and wrestling.

Many of the 2021 spring sports will get a complete season, as these sports saw their seasons come to an abrupt end in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NJCAA has this year issued a reduced number of competition dates for many sports.
"The spring sports teams did not receive as many cuts to their seasons because they lost a majority of their season last spring," said Heinrich.
With so many sports competing in the spring, some issues may arise.
"This schedule may be very taxing on administrative support for contests on our campuses, said Heinrich. "Our sports administrators will be very busy. With so many competitions taking place in this spring season, transportation to contests may be an issue at some colleges."
"One of the challenges to having these sports moved to the spring is that things outside our control may make it impossible to make up games and events," said Heinrich. Weather delays may mean some contests will not be made up.
But Heinrich said he anticipates a strong and exciting sports season in 2021.
"Everyone on our campuses are excited to see the athletes compete," said Heinrich.
