Job responsibilities include standard coaching and recruiting duties under the supervision of the head coach. The position also includes live-in responsibilities as a Residence Hall Director. Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience preferred. Experience working in residence life desirable. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Employment is subject to successful completion of a background check. $27,500 for 10 month position (August 1-May 31) plus room and 19 meal plan for housing responsibilities. Advise student-athletes on proper health, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and recovery regimens for a safer and successful athletic experience. 10. Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with maintaining an inventory of athletic training supplies and ordering new supplies as needed. 11. Provide a safe and sanitary environment for student-athletes including, but not limited to, cleaning the athletic training rooms and inspecting for safety standards. 12. Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with supervising and recruiting student athletic trainers. 13. Facilitate and arrange appointments for athletes with local medical health professionals as needed. 14. Monitor and file athletic insurance claims. Enforcement of department policies and procedures regarding medical insurance, physical examinations, and other related activities for student-athletes. 15. Pratt Community College is seeking an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach/Residential Supervisor. Reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Director of Athletics, and the Director of Residence Life, the successful candidate will assist with the successful development of student athletes both in the classroom and on the court. Additionally, candidates will assist with the personal development of student athletes in a manner which reflects PCC’s commitment to competitiveness and ethical behavior. This position is responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of all aspects of a prominent and successful Division I NJCAA men’s basketball program, establishing and executing a plan for competitive game strategies, scheduling games, recruiting student athletes, supervising team members during off-campus trips, arranging transportation and lodging, and managing the program and its budget. This is a full-time (12-month) position with excellent benefits. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree is required with a Master’s degree preferred. Proven successful coaching experience; proven experience in recruiting successful student-athletes, experience and skills in training or instructing student-athletes; excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to analyze situations and develop solutions; ability to travel and work non-traditional hours; ability to foster positive internal and external public relations. Preference will be given to candidates with experience coaching at the collegiate level; knowledge and demonstrated experience with NJCAA and conference rules and regulations.
