Northeastern Drops Game Two on The Road At Colby Community College 14-4

Northeastern Baseball falls 14-4 to Colby Community College in game two of the four game series. Yusei Uzawa was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Uzawa went 2-3 at the plate, collecting two singles, taking one walk and driving in one run. 

The game was a very even game until the Trojans exploded for 9 runs in the fifth inning to help secure them the victory. Northeastern scored one run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the second inning to help tie the game 2-2. In the top of the fifth inning, the Plainsmen broke up the tie when Zach McVay hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Then a single by Michael Clark followed to extend the lead to 4-2. Gavin LaMont led things off on the bump for Northeastern. LaMont went 4.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on 7 hits, walking two and striking out two. Evan Lamunyon ended up taking the loss, giving up 7 unearned runs on two hits and walking three batters. Jay Thomas came in for .1 innings, giving up one earned run on no hits and walking three batters. Jackson Sheehy provided 1.1 innings of relief, giving up two earned runs on one hit, walking three and striking out one. Benjamin Coleman faced one batter giving up a walk and one earned run. 

Uzawa, Clark and McVay each drove in one run for the Plainsmen. Northeastern had a great eye at the plate, as they amassed 10 walks in the contest. Brayden Stufft, Max Valerio and Hudson Hoy each led the team with two walks each. Stufft and Uzawa stole mutliple bases.
