Game 1: Colby CC vs Barton
On May 2, 2025, Colby fell short to Barton, 5-1, in the first game of Regional playoffs.
Despite falling behind after a tough first inning where Barton scored all five of their runs, the Trojans showed resilience. Colby's only run came in the fifth inning when Tiffany Mein delivered a crucial RBI single that allowed Paige Pierce to score, narrowing the gap to 5-1.
Key performances for the Trojans included Pierce, who not only scored the team's lone run but also contributed with a hit. Bailey Jackson also had a strong outing with two hits, showcasing her consistency at the plate. Mein's RBI single was another highlight for the Trojans, providing a spark of hope in the fifth inning.
On the mound, Alana Proskow started for the Trojans, however, Mia Rauzi stepped in for relief and delivered a solid performance, pitching 5.1 innings without conceding any further runs.
Game 2: Colby CC vs Seward County
In an exhilarating matchup on May 2, 2025, Colby Community College secured a narrow 7-6 victory over Seward County Community College in an extra-innings thriller. The game, attended by 321 spectators, showcased a dynamic display of offense, strategic plays, and critical errors that ultimately decided the outcome.
Colby started strong, taking an early lead in the first inning. Tess Polad capitalized on a throwing error by Seward's catcher, followed by a two-run homer from Briley Christenssen that brought Jenna Funk home, giving the Trojans a 3-0 advantage. Seward County struggled initially, but found momentum in the fourth inning, narrowing the gap to 4-3.
Colby extended their lead in the fifth inning with Polad's solo home run and Tiffany Mein's RBI single, pushing the score to 6-3. However, Seward County mounted a dramatic comeback in the seventh inning, tying the game at 6-6.
The game extended into the eighth inning, where Colby's Mein delivered the decisive blow with a solo home run to right center, securing the victory for Colby at 7-6.
Colby's pitching was anchored by Mia Rauzi, who pitched four innings, allowing three runs on six hits, and Amia Alexander-Sims, who secured the win with four innings of relief, conceding three runs on two hits.
The victory for Colby gave them great momentum to continue their Regional tournament campaign, heading into game three 1-1.
Game 3: Colby CC vs Butler
On May 3, 2025, the Colby Trojans fell to Butler Community College, 12-4, in what became the last game of their 2024-2025 season.
The match started off quietly, with both teams failing to score in the first two innings. However, the third inning saw Colby take a brief lead. Tess Polad doubled to right center, driving in two runs as Mia Rauzi and Bailey Jackson crossed the plate, putting Colby up 2-0.
Butler Community College quickly responded in the bottom of the third, extending their lead to 5-2 by the end of the inning.
In the fourth inning, Butler added another run. Colby attempted a comeback in the fifth inning with Sofia Valenti's two-run homer, closing the gap to 6-4. However, Butler Community College sealed their victory with a six-run rally in the bottom of the fifth.
This loss concluded the Colby Trojans 2024-2025 season. Colby ended their season 31-27 overall, and 11-21 in conference play.
