Tiger tennis teams pick up road wins over NCAA Division II Drury University

The Cowley College tennis teams continued its solid play with a pair of victories over NCAA Division II Drury University on Saturday, March 27 in Springfield, MO. The Tiger men, ranked second in the NJCAA, defeated No. 14-ranked Drury 6-1, while the No. 4-ranked Lady Tigers knocked off the Panthers 4-3.

In the men's match, Cowley went 3-0 in doubles play and also won five of six singles matches. The Tigers are now 6-1 on the season.

The Lady Tigers  won two of three doubles matches against Drury and split the singles matches as they slipped past the Lady Panthers. The Cowley women are now 4-4 on the season.

"These were great wins for both teams," Cowley head coach Manuel Raga said. "Drury is a top ranked team in NCAA Division II and a very tough team to play against. This win means a lot to the team especially because it was on the road."

The Tiger tennis teams will have some time off before playing at Oklahoma Baptist University Tuesday, April 6 at 3 p.m.

*No. 4 - Aymeric Bruno (CC) defeated Wilken (DU) 6-2, 6-3.
