Tiger men move into 14th place, Lady Tigers in 16th at outdoor nationals

With three All-American (top-eight) performances for the Cowley College men's track and field team and two All-American performances for the Lady Tigers, the Tiger men are currently tied for 14^th place and the Cowley women are in 16^th place after day-two of the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships held in Levelland, Texas.

The Cloud County (57 points) men have an 18-point advantage over second place Iowa Central heading into the final day, while New Mexico Junior College (52 points) holds an 11-point lead over Cloud County on the women's side.

The competition will heat up in today's final day with 13 men's events and 12 women's events on the slate.

MEN

*3,000-meter steeplechase – Xoel Rodriguez-Abad, 10:05.53, 10^th; Santiago Nunez, 10:16.73, 14^th.

*4x800-meter relay – Cowley (Dawson Crawley, Nathaniel Hubbard, Goran Duijsters, Edwin Olvera), 7:50.89, seventh, All-American.

*Shot put – Ahmed Brown, 49-4 ¼, fourth, All-American.

*Hammer – Matt Higdon, 157-4, eighth, All-American.

WOMEN

*10,000-meter run – Lubna Suied, 38:50.59, third, All-American.

*4x800-meter relay – Cowley (Zinara Lesley, Ashley Goforth, Karissa Glover, Delicia Boothe), 10:06.08, 10^th.

*Pole vault – Channa Hines, 10-0, eighth, All-American.

*Shot put – Kayla Noear, 42-2 ¾, ninth.

*Hammer – Caitlin Mannon, 133-5, 11^th.
