
The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's soccer team (0-0-1) tied the Crowder College Roughriders (0-1-1), 2-2 Aug. 24 at the Crowder College Soccer Field. The Blue Devils started off with a 2-0 lead but would end the game in a tie after letting up two unanswered Roughrider goals.
David Mayamona recorded the first Blue Devil goal for the 2024 men's soccer season in the 10th minute with an assist from Payson Hoffstatter. Christian Cenoble doubled the lead in the 22nd minute from an assist from team captain, Noah Conover. Both Blue Devil goals came from freshman wingers. Freshman goalkeeper, Kleber Meneses Fabian had four saves and played the entire 90 minutes.
The Roughriders were able to put away a goal in the 30th minute and went into halftime down 2-1. They came out and scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute.
The next game for the Blue Devils men's soccer team is a conference opener against the Seward County Community College Saints at 8 p.m. Aug. 28 at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kan.
