Men’s Soccer Season Ends in Double Overtime Thriller

Men’s Soccer Season Ends in Double Overtime Thriller

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's soccer team fell to the Seward County Community College in the opening round of the NJCAA Plains District Tournament. The Blue Devils and Saints were tied 0-0 after 90 minutes of regular time. They headed into two, 10-minute overtime halves where when someone scored, the game is over - also known as a golden goal. If the score remained tied after both overtime halves, then they would have entered a penalty shootout to decide a victor. The Seward Saints were able to get by the Blue Devil defense and scored with 21 seconds remaining in the second overtime.

The Blue Devils recorded more shots on target but were unable to put one in the back of the net in the 109 minutes of gameplay. Pierre-Jean Dannenmuller finished the night with three saves for the Blue Devils but was unable to stop the Saints shot with 21 seconds remaining on the clock.

KCKCC Men's Soccer finished the season with an overall record of 6-4-4 and in third place in the KJCCC.
