The Cowley College women's soccer team got a pair of goals from Leticia Belloni in a 5-0 road win at Garden City on Wednesday.
Despite playing limited minutes, Belloni made the most of her opportunities.
"Leticia has matured so much and has been very productive in the minutes she is playing," Cowley head coach Roberto dos Santos said.
Belloni had one of Cowley's two first half goals with the other coming from sophomore Natalia Lima.
The Lady Tigers would get second half goals from Angela Gatto and Elsa Pelicant before Belloni capped the scoring by heading in a corner kick from Nanako Seki. The Lady Tigers out-shot Garden City 30-3 in the win.
"We controlled the game and were more consistent defensively," Dos Santos said.
Cowley is now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Jayhawk Conference Western Division, while Garden City falls to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the Jayhawk West.
"It is a good start," Dos Santos said. "We hope to be a better team as the season goes on."
Cowley will play at No. 16-ranked Kansas City Saturday at 2 p.m. The Lady Blue Devils are 1-0 on the season following a 4-1 win over Neosho County.
"It will be a tough battle," Dos Santos said. "We hope to keep improving."
