Taylor Meinen wins season-opening pentathlon

A trio of Cowley College athletes opened the 2021 indoor track and field season by competing at the Highland Multis held Friday and Saturday in Highland, KS.
Sophomore Taylor Meinen won the women's pentathlon by scoring 2,072 points in her five events. Meinen placed first in four events and out-scored Highland's Diamond Sullivan by 90 points, while Cowley sophomore Channa Hines finished third with 824 points.
On the men's side, Cowley College sophomore Jack Mull placed seventh in the heptathlon out of nine competitors. Mull finished with 3,915 points in seven events. Cloud County's Marcquiece Cade won the heptathlon by scoring 4,533 points.
The remainder of the Cowley College men and women's indoor track and field teams will prepare to open the 2021 season Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Kansas Invite held at Washburn University in Topeka, KS.
