The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to Kansas City Kansas Community College, 90-57, on Saturday at the Raider Fieldhouse.
The ninth-ranked Blue Devils put together an early double-digit lead and never let up. Defensively, KCKCC forced 29 turnovers, which led to 24 points.
A pair of freshmen led the Raiders in scoring as Nyamiri Blair logged 16 points, while Brittney Veik recorded 15 points.
"This was a good experience for our young players," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "KCKCC is a good team and we learned a lot. I am proud of our we kept fighting."
With the loss, CCC starts the season 0-1.
Up next, the Raiders travel to North Platte Community College for a Friday night meeting. The Knights are 0-3 on the season, having lost to Colby Community College, Eastern Wyoming College and Laramie County Community College. Friday's tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
