Colby, KAN - The Colby Community College softball team had a thrilling game against Butler Community College. The Trojans began with a 4-2 loss and finished off the day with a close battle of 6-5 loss. Colby is now 27-20 overall and 8-16 in the KJCCC conference and will be taking on Hutchinson Community College on Wednesday, April 16th at 2PM CDT.
Game 1 Recap: Colby vs Butler
Butler took control in the first inning, scoring three runs. However, the Trojans responded with resilience. In the third inning, Colby managed to get on the scoreboard when Tess Polad hit a home run, narrowing the deficit to 3-1.
The Trojans continued to fight back in the fifth inning. Brooklyn Jackson doubled, driving in Tess Polad and cutting Butler's lead to 3-2. Unfortunately for Colby, Butler added 2 in the seventh inning, sealing the 4-2 victory for Butler.

Game 2 Recap: Colby vs Butler
Butler scored first in the third inning. However, Colby responded in the fourth inning with a two-run effort. M. Rauzi's double was instrumental in bringing in a run, followed by T. Polad's contribution to tie the game at 2-2.
The game remained tightly contested, with both teams exchanging runs in the sixth inning. Colby managed to level the score again, thanks to a timely RBI from S. Valenti, making it 4-4. The Trojans' defense held strong, keeping Butler from pulling away.
As the game extended into extra innings, the Trojans showed resilience. In the 10th inning, P. Pierce delivered a crucial two-RBI single that brought the game back to a tie, 5-5, after Butler had briefly taken the lead.
