No.7 Women’s Soccer Historic Season Continues with Win Over Coffeyville

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team conquered the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens, 5-0 Oct. 9 at the KCKCC Soccer Field. This is the first time KCKCC women's soccer has been in first place in the KJCCC since the 2020 season. They remain undefeated with an overall record of 11-0-3 and conference record of 9-0-3.

Sierra Montez led the team offensively with three goals from her six shots on goal, and all three goals from the attacking midfielder came in the second half. The first goal was scored by Cora Ellermann with just three minutes before halftime with an assist from Kiara Carr. The other Blue Devil goal came from Jaycee Schumann in the 60th minute with an assist from Ellermann. The Blue Devils outshot the Red Ravens 25 to four, and the three shots on goal from the Red Ravens were saved by Blue Devil goalkeepers Maria Heuman and Lena Wasow.

The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against Barton Community College at 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Barton Soccer field in Barton County, Kan.
