Blue Devils Get One Point in a Tough Battle vs No.10 Butler

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team (4-0-1) took one point against the No.10 Butler Community College Grizzlies (2-0-2), 1-1 Sep. 4 at the KCKCC Soccer Field. This was the first ranked opponent the Blue Devils faced, and they outshot the Grizzlies 20 to 14, scoring a goal with just a minute remaining to tie the game.

Kiara Carr converted on one of her four shots on target in the 88th minute with a through ball from Sierra Montez. She was able to beat the Grizzly defensive line and slide it past the goalkeeper with just 1 minute and 14 seconds remaining in the game. That marks Carr's fourth goal on the season and is currently tied with Montez for the most goals for the Blue Devils. Maria Heuman saw seven shots and saved six of them with one going in in the 46th minute.

The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against the Coffeyville Community College Ravens at 4 p.m. Sep. 7 at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kan.
