No.8 Blue Devils One Win Away From Conference Championship

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team took down the No.19 Cowley College Tigers, 3-1 Oct. 23 in Arkansas City, Kan. Cora Ellermann made it four straight games with a goal and now has 10 goals on the season. This was the first time this season that the Blue Devils took down Cowley after tying 1-1 Oct.21.

The Blue Devils were able to get off nine shots in the first half and convert on two of them. Kiara Carr started things off early in the 5th minute with an assist from Jayce Schumann. The Tigers answered in the 21st minute to tie the game up. Just 18 minutes later, Ellermann scored a header with the cross coming in from Sierra Montez. In the second half, the lone goal came from Schumann who doubled the lead by making it 3-1. That is Schumann's fifth goal on the season. With that, the undefeated season continues and with a win Saturday, the Blue Devils would be crowned 2024 KJCCC regular season champions. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at the KCKCC soccer field against Garden City Community College.
