
The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team took down Division II No. 20 North Central Missouri College Pirates 11-7 April 15 at the KCKCC baseball field. This is the second time these two teams have faced off with one another, and the Blue Devils have gotten the best of the Pirates both times. The first game on March 25 ended with a final score of 10-8 in Trenton, Mo.
As a team, KCKCC had 17 hits in their 38 at-bats, tallying up 11 runs, two doubles and one triple. Most of the Blue Devil scoring came in the fourth and fifth innings where seven of their 11 runs were put up. Tanner Pachorek and Colton Kirkham both had four hits each and combined four runs and two RBIs. Pachorek also had the lone triple on the day. Both of Ian Woita's hits were doubles, scoring twice. Marcus Dierks and John Caime were the RBI leaders as they both tallied two RBIs.
There were five pitchers who threw for KCKCC. As a unit, they allowed seven runs from nine hits and six walks while striking out six Pirate batters. Camden Brashear started the game and threw for the opening 2.2 innings while allowing two runs, one earned, four hits, two walks and one strikeout. Sebastian Udland entered the game in the third inning and allowed two hits and one earned run in his 1.1 innings of work. Jake Titus recorded the win as he went for 3.0 innings not allowing a single run to score while giving up just one hit. He walked one and struck out one. Weston Fries and Tanner Warner threw for the final two innings and combined for one run, three strikeouts, two hits and two walks.
The next series for the Blue Devils is against the Allen County Community College Red Devils at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. April 17 in Iola, Kan.
