Track and field athletes competing at NJCAA Division I National Championships
A few Cowley College athletes competed in day one of the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships held in Levelland, Texas on Tuesday.
A few Cowley College athletes competed in day one of the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships held in Levelland, Texas on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers earned points from sophomore Lubna Suied placing third in the 10,000-meter run, while Channa Hines placed eighth in the pole vault.
The Tiger men were led by their 4x800-meter relay team's seventh place finish. Sophomore thrower Matt Higdon also scored points for the Tigers by placing eighth in the hammer throw.
The competition will ramp up on day two and will conclude on Thursday.

MEN
*4x800-meter relay – Cowley (Dawson Crawley, Nathaniel Hubbard, Goran Duijsters, Edwin Olvera), 7:50.89, seventh.
*Hammer – Matt Higdon, 157-4, eighth.
WOMEN
*10,000-meter run – Lubna Suied, 38:50.59, third.
*4x800-meter relay – Cowley (Zinara Lesley, Ashley Goforth, Karissa Glover, Delicia Boothe), 10:06.08, 10th.
*Pole vault – Channa Hines, 10-0, eighth.
*Hammer – Caitlin Mannon, 133-5, 11th.
