
Track & FIeld Compete at Midwest Classic
Fort Hays Tech Northwest Track & Field traveled to Emporia, Kansas, to compete in the Midwest Classic on Friday and Saturday.
Sprints & Field Events:
In the 100m dash, Damain Darlington finished 24th, with a time of 11.42 seconds.
In the 400m hurdles, Noah Mitchell placed 10th, with a time of 1:00.31.
Long & Middle Distance:
In the 800m run, Salisu Habibu placed 5th with a time of 1:55.54, and Maciej Bachlaj finished 20th with a time of 2:02.93.
In the women's 800m run, Carolyne Jepkosgei placed 14th, with a time of 2:38.79.
In the 1500m run, Sibonokuhle Thwala placed 2nd, with a national qualifying time of 3:53.39. Kamogelo Thipe placed 12th, with a time of 4:05.01, and Daniel Cornelissen finished 43rd, with a time of 4:45.24.
In the women's 1500m run, Carolyne Jepkosgei placed 13th, breaking the school record with a time of 5:07.25
In the women's 5000m run, Celestine Kiborus finished 9th, with a time of 20:03.16.
Track & Field's next meet will be at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi in Canyon, Texas, on April 11th.
