
Broncbusters finish off sweep of Fort Hays Tech Northwest

The freshman clubbed her second home run of the series and drove in five runs, Maria Avendano Fori finished 3-for-4 with four RBI, and Garden City routed Fort Hays Tech Northwest, 19-4 in game two Saturday afternoon Tangeman Sports Complex.
Chiaria Olison scattered five hits over three innings for Garden City, which improved to 22-16 overall and 14-10 in conference.
After scoring two runs in the first, Jade Hendrix stroked an RBI base hit to right; then executed a perfect double steal that scored Kenzie Garza from third. Kurene-Iwikau followed with an RBI single, and Garden City was up, 6-0.
In the third, Avendano Fori and Olison each ripped a pair of bases-clearing doubles, and Hendrix scored on an error as the Broncbusters plated six to extend to a 12-2 advantage.
Kurene-Iwikau then added a three-run homer that spearheaded a seven-run fourth inning.
Tigers starter, Haven Jaso allowed 17 runs on 16 hits in 3 2/3.
Olison drove in three and Julissa Galicia had two RBI.
