Butler women dominate Neosho on road in 96-58 win

CHANUTE, Kan. – The Butler women cruised to a 96-58 road win at Neosho County on Saturday, giving the Grizzlies their 10th win in 11 games.

Nakylia Carter and Kyeria Hannah each scored 16 points in the win for Butler (22-6 overall, 19-6 conference), who had all five starters score in double digits. Kendriana Washington added 15 points, while Raven Prince and Dakota Vann scored 13 and 11, respectively.

Butler broke an early 5-5 tie with an 8-0 run, while the Grizzly defense limited Neosho to just two field goals en-route to a 22-10 lead after one quarter.

A Prince trey put Butler up 40-20 with 2:14 left in the first half, but Neosho cut the deficit to 13 with a 10-3 run before the break.

Butler made a 10-1 run midway through the third quarter to build the lead to 25. Kyeria Hannah's trey from the far corner put the Grizzlies up 63-38 with 5:06 left in the quarter.

Dakota Vann then gave the Grizzlies a 30-point lead, 80-50, on a field goal with 7:26 remaining.

The Grizzlies shot 48.4 percent in the first half, then improved by hitting a 58.6 clip in the second half.

With one regular season game left, Butler remains tied for third place with Coffeyville in the conference standings at 19-6. The Grizzlies will host Colby at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Ravens play at Cowley (21-8, 17-8).
