
Broncbuster men's golf claims Tabor College Invite
Newton, KS-The Broncbuster men's golf team won the 2022 Tabor College Invite at Sand Creek Station. It was their second top finish of the fall.
Garden City tallied a team score of 581, good for 5-over par and 16 strokes better than Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Joshua Balson-Scales won the individual crown with Anthony DeSchutter and Jacob Granmark tying for second.
Balson-Scales was magnificent in the opening round, shooting a 69, the second lowest score of the tournament. He tapped in six birdies including five over his final seven holes. He saved par nine times.
DeSchutter, who has been solid all fall, was at it again, turning a first-round 2-over par into a second-round 1-under. He carded birdies on four, 14, and 15, shooting 2-under on the back nine to close out the tournament.
Granmark, who struggled on the backside in round two, shot a 69 on the first 18, which included an eagle on the 498-yard par-5 16th.
Tiaan Diedericks came in fifth at 3-over, Hampus Ridderfelt tied for 23rd, and Akarachai Sakunlee took 27th.
