The Fort Scott Community College women's basketball team came up with a big conference win on Tuesday, taking down Kansas City Kansas Community College by the score of 83-70. The game was moved up from Wednesday to Tuesday to avoid the incoming storm system. The win was the first of the year for the Hounds in conference play and it came at a good time against a good KCKCC team.
The Hounds dominated in the post, winning the rebound battle 40-30 and outscoring the Blue Devils 50-28 in the paint. JT Brown had a big game, collecting 23 points on 9/13 shooting. Freshman Shayla Golden also had a great game, scoring 12 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Also scoring in double-figures for FSCC was Kaylan Larry (17), Brekayla Davis (11), and Kintaeja Ling (11).
Whitcomb kept the Blue Devils in the game for most of the night, scoring 21 points. The Hounds will be back in action this Saturday, continuing Jayhawk Conference play against the Highland Community College Scotties at Arnold Arena at 2pm.
