Volleyball: Raiders and T-Birds Go Five Sets
The Central Community College volleyball team lost to Cloud County Community College, 3-2, on Friday night at the Raider Fieldhouse.
The Raiders opened the match with a 25-17 win, which was followed by identical 25-19 T-Bird victories to give CCCC the 2-1 advantage. The Raiders evened the match at 2-2 with a 25-18 win in the fourth set. Cloud County took the match with a 15-12 final in the decisive fifth set.
"I was really proud of our effort in the match against Cloud County," said CCC head coach Mary Young. "While we came up short, we competed hard and definitely had our chances to win. This type of competition will only make us better as the season progresses and I feel confident that we will grow from this match."
Emily Otten led CCC in kills with 24, while Kamryn Chohon recorded a season-high 69 assists. Chohon also tallied 20 digs, while Chloe Odbert added 17.
The loss gives CCC a 7-3 mark.
Up next, the Raiders will travel to North Platte Community College Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match.
