Broncbusters claim both individual and team title at Kansas Wesleyan
Salina, KS-The Broncbuster men's golf team won the Central Plains Invitational team title at Kansas Wesleyan University while Ilan Dufrenoy claimed the individual crown at 6-under par.
The freshman paced the field, tapping in four birdies on Tuesday including two beauties on the front-nine. But his best work came in the second round when he dropped in an eagle on No. 2, which shaved two strokes off his first-hole bogey. He added a pair of bridies on the front and three more on the back to finish 5-under for the day. He shot a 69 in Monday's opening round.
Meantime Jack Dyer, the lone Broncbuster who qualified for the National Championships last May in New Mexico, finished in a tie for ninth at 5-over. The sophomore capped off his best round of the tournament on Tuesday, carding a 2-under, 68. He birdied 10 and 16 on the back and was shook off three bogeys on the front with three birdies (No. 3, 8, and 9).
Oliver Crowley tied for 12th at 6-over, Miguel Silveira, who made his season debut this week, was 17th at 10-over, and Billy Larvan tied for 30th.
