Game 1 Recap
In an exciting matchup, Colby Community College (CCC) fell in game one to Garden City Community College (GCCC) with a final score of 11-5.
Despite falling behind after the first two innings of play, CCC made a comeback attempt in the third inning. Sofia Valenti's RBI single and Paige Pierce's three-run homer brought the score to 7-4, narrowing the gap. Colby managed one more run in the final inning, but it wasn't quite enough to capture the win.
Paige Pierce was a standout for CCC, hitting a home run and driving in four RBIs. Tess Polad also had a notable performance with three hits and two runs scored.
Mia Rauzi struggled early, conceding seven runs in two innings, while Amia Alexander pitched five innings in relief, allowing four runs.
The Trojans looked to regroup after this loss to try and win their last regular-season game.
