The Highland Community College Scotties came into Arnold Arena and took a close game from the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds, 69-56. The game was close for most of the day as both teams had difficuluty putting the other away. In the end, the drive-and-kick offense of the Scotties was too much for the Hounds.
Freshman Shayla Golden led the Hounds with 14 points and 4 rebounds, despite seeing reduced playing time due to early foul trouble. Rising from Highland led all scoreers with 24 points while collecting 10 rebounds. The Hounds failed to hit a three-point attempt in the contest.
The Hounds will travel to Johnson County on Monday to face the Cavaliers before returning home on Wednesday to face Neosho County at 5:30pm.
