
Lady Wolves Compete in TJC Spring Break Invitational
TYLER, Texas – The Co-Lin Women's Tennis team hit the road over the weekend for four matches against nationally ranked opponents in the Tyler Junior College Spring Break Invitational. The Lady Wolves dropped the four matches as they lost to No. 3 Tyler, 0-9, and No. 6 Collin County, 2-7, on Friday, March 14 then lost, 1-8, to No. 7 Weatherford on Saturday, March 15, and finished on Sunday, March 16, with a 0-9 loss to No. 4 Cowley County.

In their first match of the weekend, the Lady Wolves dropped the three doubles matches as Yariange Bello (Caracas, Venezuela) and Munashe Bera (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) dropped one doubles, 3-8, while Georgina Labusch (Verl, Germany) and Sophie Sisson (Moss Point) along with Allie Grace McNeill (Brookhaven) and Kayleigh Ann Griffin (Houston) dropped two and three doubles respectively at 0-8 in both matches.
In the singles matches, Bello dropped one singles, 2-6 and 3-6, while Labusch dropped two singles, 2-6 and 0-6. Sisson dropped three singles with identical 0-6 set scores, McNeill dropped four singles, 1-6 and 0-6, while Griffin lost five singles 0-6 and 1-6. Gracie Smith (Brookhaven) lost six singles with identical 0-6 set scores.

The Lady Wolves picked up one of their two points with a one doubles win, 8-4, by Bello and Bera while Labusch and Sisson dropped two doubles, 2-8, with McNeill and Griffin dropping three doubles, 0-8.
In the singles matches, Bello picked up a win against the No. 21 player in the nation in one singles, 6-3 2-6 1-0(5), for the Lady Wolves second point of the match while Labusch dropped two singles with identical 1-6 set scores and Sission dropped three singles at 3-6 and 0-6. McNeill, Smith, and Griffin lost four, five, and six singles respectively all with identical 0-6 set scores.

In the doubles matches, Bello and Bera along with McNeill and Griffin dropped one and three doubles with 2-8 scores while Labusch and Sisson dropped two singles at 1-8.
The lone point of the match for the Lady Wolves came at one singles where Bello beat the No. 10 player in the nation, 1-6 7-5 1-0(5), while Labusch, Sisson, and McNeill dropped two, three, and four singles respectively with identical 0-6 set scores. Griffin lost five singles, 2-6 and 0-6, while Smith lost six singles, 6(3)-7 and 3-6.

In the doubles matches, Bello and Bera lost one doubles, 1-8, while Labusch and Sisson and McNeill and Griffin lost two and three doubles respectively, 0-8.
In the singles matches, Bello dropped one singles, 1-6 and 2-6 while Labusch dropped two singles, 0-6 and 2-6, with Sisson, McNeill, and Smith losing three, four, and five singles respectively with 0-6 identical set scores. Griffin lost six singles, 1-6 and 0-6.
Co-Lin is now 3-8 overall and will return to MACCC play hosting Holmes on Tuesday, March 18 at 2 p.m.
