
The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team (7-0-3) took down the Garden City Community College Broncbusters (3-7-1), 3-2 Sep. 25 at the Broncbuster Stadium in Garden City, Kan. This marks the fifth consecutive game that Kiara Carr has scored a goal.
The Blue Devils were able to tally 13 shots and six on target. Carr scored the first goal in the 34th minute with an assist from Jennifer Vasquez. She would score again in the 52nd minute with an assist from Jaycee Schumann. Schumann built the counterattack by taking the ball from a Broncbuster player at midfield and managed to dribble all the way to the opponent's box before playing Carr in the middle to make it 2-1 in favor of the Blue Devils. The Broncbusters answered in the 68th minute to tie it up 2-2. Sierra Montez would then score a left footed shot from outside the box to take the lead in the 84th minute with an assist from Schumann. In net, Maria Heuman played 36 minutes and 24 seconds. Heuman saw four shots and managed to save two of them. Lena Wasow played the other 53 minutes and 36 seconds saving both shots on goal that she saw.
The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against Seward County Community College at 5 p.m. Sep. 28 at the KCKCC Soccer Field.
