Ravens Sweep Doubleheader From KCK, Walk-Off Winner in Game #1

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball Team swept a home doubleheader from the Blue Devils of KCK.  With the two victories, Coffeyville improved its overall season record to 21-12, including a 12-8 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) record.  The 12-8 conference record currently has the Ravens in third place in the nine-team KJCCC East division.

Game #1 - 4-3 Victory in extra innings (9 innings)

The Ravens rallied back from trailing 2-0 in the seventh inning to walking it off in the ninth inning as Red Raven sophomore centerfielder Eric Bacon banged out his third hit of the game to score the winning run.  Sophomore Jackson Waggoner started on the mound for the Ravens, going six strong, allowing five hits and one earned.  Sophomore righty Caleb Peek came in in relief to earn the victory, pitching three innings, allowing three hits and one earned.

Game #2 - 10-5 Victory

KCK jumped out early in Game #2, scoring four runs over the first two innings.  However, Coffeyville scored six in the bottom of the second to take a 6-4 lead as the Ravens' starting pitcher, right-hander sophomore Easton Renn settled in, holding KCK scoreless over the next four innings.  Renn improved his record to 7-0 with the win, going six innings, allowing four earned on seven hits with four strikeouts.  Offensively, Red Raven freshman designated hitter Shawn Bareno had two hits in the game with three RBIs, while sophomore right fielder Carson Miller also had two hits.  Sophomore Ty Chaddrick also earned three RBIs.

Coffeyville will return to action on Thursday, April 10th with a doubleheader scheduled in Parsons KS against the Cardinals of Labette Community College.  Game times set for 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.
