The Central Community College men's soccer team lost to Hesston College, 1-0, on Wednesday at Raider Field.
Hesston's Isaac Troyer scored the game's only goal with two minutes to play before halftime. Wade Baker provided the assist and the Larks led 1-0 at halftime. The Raiders were unable to score the rest of the way.
"We played pretty well most of the game and had a lot of chances to score," said CCC head coach Hawken Hanna. "We made one defensive mistake in the first half and were on the attack otherwise. Hesston's goalkeeper had an awesome game and we couldn't break them down, even with eight shots on goal. We did a lot of positive things that will hopefully translate into success as the season goes on."
CCC goalie Alex Morales recorded one save on the day. Hesston outshot CCC, 19-3.
With the loss, the Raiders are 2-2 on the season.
The Raiders will travel to Allen County (Kan.) Community College on Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest.
