16th Ranked Butler Softball Clinches Share of Regular Season KJCCC Title
Softball Wins 19th KJCCC Championship in Program History
PRATT, Kan. – For a second consecutive season and 19th time in program history, Butler softball are the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference regular season champions.
Butler (38-6, 27-5) swept Pratt (10-36, 6-24) in a doubleheader on the road Sunday, winning 15-0 and 14-2 in a pair of run rules to end the regular season. They finish the regular season on a 14-game winning streak. The Grizzlies share the 2025 regular season title with Hutchinson who was also 27-5 in league play with the two teams finishing 2-2 vs. each other. Butler receives the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Region 6 Tournament based on a random draw that was conducted by the conference commissioner.

The Grizzlies used three high scoring innings in game one while one-hitting the Beavers to secure the 15-0 win. Ellie Randall (W, 14-1) threw the first 3.0 innings securing her 14th win of the season allowing a lone hit. Maggie Grant tossed the final 2.0 innings striking out two. Butler plated six runs in the first inning, four in the second and five in the fourth. Third baseman Kylie Forney smashed two home runs in the game including a grand slam as she drove in a career-high seven runs.
Butler scored seven runs in the first and third innings to snag a 14-2 win in game two. Kyler Demel, Chloe Cardona and Kory Schoenfeld each drove in three runs in the win while Emillee Stofferahn (W, 5-0) picked up the win in the circle and Chloe Odle threw the final 2.0 innings. Pratt got its only two hits of the game in the first inning as they scored two runs in the inning. Claire Lopez recorded five stolen bases in the game.

Butler opens the Region 6/Plains District Tournament on Friday at Dodge City's Legends Park as the No. 1 seed. The winner of the tournament gets an automatic bid to the 2025 NJCAA Division 1 Softball World Series held in Yuma, Arizona, from May 19th-24th.
