Dodge City, KS-The Broncbusters just missed an opportunity at their first statement win of the season.
Jorge De Le Vibora and Haru Toshikuni netted goals as Garden City played to a 2-2 draw with Dodge City on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. The Broncbusters are now 4-1-3 overall and 0-1-2 in conference play.
In a physical contest that featured six combined yellow cards, it was Corey Bryant's team that struck first. Cristobal Sanchez slipped a ball on the ground between two center backs before De Le Vibora took one touch and beat Dodge City keeper, Eric Zalaya for the match's first goal in the 18th minute.
The Conquistadors though answered with less than 10 seconds remaining in the half when Arthur Lemeunier snuck a shot past Charlie Prtenjaca.
Garden City responded early in the final period when Noel Williamson won a ball in the attacking third of the field. He dribbled forward and played the ball across the box in behind the backline where Toshikuni made a run in the box and finished at the net for a 2-1 advantage.
But with just under four minutes remaining in the match, Jose Rojas dropped a corner kick perfectly into the box where Crescenzo Christian Difficile blasted home the equalizer.
Prtenjaca recorded three saves in 90 minutes for Garden City. Dodge City outshot the Broncbusters, 13-11.
