
Northeastern Softball Falls To Colby Community College 10-4
Northeastern Softball falls in the last game of the series to Colby Community College 10-4. Mikeayla Llamas was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Llamas went 2-4 at the plate, hitting one home run, driving in one run and scoring two runs.
Colby started the scoring in the bottom of the second inning, where they scored four runs. The Trojans added to their early lead, scoring two more runs in the bottom of the third inning. Llamas hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fifth inning. Mackenzie Bowie started in the circle for Northeastern. Bowie went three innings, giving up 6 runs (three earned) on 6 hits and walking one batter. Maddie Cline came in for relief for Northeastern. Cline went three innings, giving up four runs (zero earned) on 5 hits and walking one batter.
Llamas went 2-4 at the plate to lead the Plainswomen in hits. Kelsi Jurczewsky stole two bases in the contest. Northeastern was able to steal four bases total in the game. The Plainswomen will be back in action again on March 29th, when they travel to Lamar Community College.
