Grizzlies Handle Red Ravens at Home

EL DORADO, Kan. – No. 6 ranked Butler soccer picked up its sixth straight KJCCC win on Sunday evening, defeating Coffeyville 2-0 at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
Butler (8-0-3, 8-0-1 KJCCC) remains unbeaten on the season and have won six straight conference games. The Red Ravens (0-7-3, 0-6-3) are winless on the year.
Freshman Bridget Sherman netted her first collegiate goal of the season just 10 minutes into the game to give Butler a 1-0 lead. Sherman kicked a ball from the corner that was helped into the net by the Red Raven goalie.

Sophomore London Ingram scored her 10th goal of the season just three minutes later, going by two Red Raven defenders and sending the goal past the Coffeyville goalie.

The Grizzlies held on to the 2-0 lead for the final 76:36 of the game. Freshman Millie Robshaw-Charlesworth started in goal and played 78 minutes without a shot on goal. Fellow freshman Brooklin Lynch played the final 11:33 and finished with one save.
Butler outshot Coffeyville 16-3 and tallied eight corner kicks to the Ravens one.
The Grizzlies return to action on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Great Bend when they take on the Barton Cougars.
