KJCCC Announces All-KJCCC Baseball West Division Honors
2025 All-KJCCC West Division Baseball Teams
COLBY, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has announced the 2025 All-KJCCC West Division Baseball teams and winners of the major postseason honors. The awards, which were voted on by each of the league head coaches, include four individuals from two different conference institutions bringing home major accolades.
Major award winners from the 2025 regular season are Most Valuable Player Isaiah Padilla of Colby, Pitcher of the Year Cole Linton of Cloud County, Freshman of the Year Turner Zdunich of Colby, and Coach of the Year Ryan Carter of Colby.
Most Valuable Player: Isaiah Padilla (Colby)
The KJCCC West Division leader in batting average (.458), Padilla also tied for the West Division lead in home runs (17) and ranked second in the division in RBI after appearing in 49 games for the Trojans this past season. Of Padilla’s 77 hits, 34 went for extra bases as the sophomore had a league-leading .552 on-base percentage and .859 slugging percentage with both numbers rising during conference play to .632 and 1.022, respectively.
Pitcher of the Year: Cole Linton (Cloud County)Helping Cloud County to a second-consecutive second-place finish in the KJCCC West Division, Linton put together some of his best outings during conference play by finishing with a 4-1 record across eight appearances against league foes with 37 strikeouts in 48 innings. At home this season, Linton posted a 5-1 record in seven outings with a 0.85 WHIP and had three complete games which led the KJCCC West Division.
Freshman of the Year: Turner Zdunich (Colby)Zdunich was the other piece to Colby’s one-two batting punch as the High River, Alberta, Canada native recorded the fifth-best batting average in the KJCCC West Division (.407) and a .47 on-base percentage. Recording 57 RBI at the plate, Zdunich also saw time on the mound as a two-way player and struck out 39 batters in 36.2 innings of work while picking up three pitching victories and two saves.
Coach of the Year: Ryan Carter (Colby)
Picked to finish seventh in the KJCCC West Division preseason coaches’ poll, Carter led Colby to a fourth-place finish in the division by going 17-15 in league play to make a seven-win improvement in conference year-over-year to host a home playoff series in the NJCAA Region 6 Plains District Tournament. As a team, Colby hit .316 and had a .421 on-base percentage and was the only KJCCC West Division team to finish higher in the standings than where they were picked preseason.
