Three KJCCC Baseball Players Earn NJCAA D1 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award

CHARLOTTE, NC – The NJCAA has announced the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings 2025 NJCAA D1 Baseball Gold Glove Awards with three Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference baseball players earning Gold Gloves at their positions.
Included in the list of Gold Glove winners for 2025 are Fort Scott’s Reese Kortum (pitcher), Hutchinson’s Quinn Maher (first base), and Kansas City Kansas Community College outfielder Marcus Dierks.
Kortum finished the year with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage to earn the Gold Glove as one of four players on this year’s team with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. The sophomore recorded one putout and 18 assists in 19 total chances this past season.
Maher is the fifth Blue Dragon to earn a national Gold Glove award and the first since Ben McLaughlin in 2022 after finishing the year with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage while having 420 defensive chances. Recording 413 putouts, the redshirt sophomore had seven assists and helped turn 29 double plays for the Blue Dragons, who finished the year with the second-highest team fielding percentage in the KJCCC (.973).
The third-straight Gold Glove winner for Kansas City Kansas, Dierks finished the year with a .990 fielding percentage after recording 90 putouts and 10 assists in 101 total chances. Dierks joins former Blue Devil winners Gehrig Goldbeck (2023 and 2024) and Cole Dawson (2021) as Gold Glove recipients in the past five years.
With the three Gold Glove winners, the KJCCC has now had multiple Gold Glove recipients from the conference in each of the past three years which includes having at least three Gold Glove winners in two of the past three seasons. The Conference has had at least one Gold Glove winner in each of the past five seasons and eight of the last nine seasons that Gold Glove winners have been announced.
