KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 10
COLBY, Kan. – Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division leaders Johnson County Community College and Cowley College both swept four-game conference series last week with Cavalier outfielder Jeremy Comer and Tiger pitcher Kyler Zagar leading the way to earn KJCCC East Division Baseball Player of the Week honors.
Jeremy Comer – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Johnson County outfielder Jeremy Comer helped power the number 12 ranked Cavaliers to a conference sweep over Labette last week. Comer hit at a .467 clip (7-for-15) with three doubles, a home run, a walk, four runs scored, and five RBI against the Cardinals to help keep JCCC tied atop the KJCCC Baseball East Division standings.
Kyler Zagar – Cowley (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week)
Freshman lefthander Kyler Zagar tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout in a 5-0 victory over Fort Scott to open a four-game series with the Greyhounds. Zagar allowed only a third-inning single while striking out nine and walking one as Cowley went on to sweep the four-game series against Fort Scott. This season, Zagar is 5-1 overall on the mound, with his lone loss coming to number 20-ranked McClennan, and has helped the number four-ranked Tigers to a 27-7 overall record.
