KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 9
COLBY, Kan. – For the first time this season, Neosho County infielder Larsen Koester and Highland Community College pitcher Gavin Stowell have each earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division Baseball Player of the Week honors for their performances during week nine of the 2025 season.
Larsen Koester – Neosho County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Koester had a big week at the plate with a .526 batting average with 10 hits with six going for extra bases, 12 RBI, and seven runs scored. The freshman had home runs in four of the five games last week which included a two-home run, five RBI game in game one against Labette. This season, Koester is hitting .413 which ranks fourth in the KJCCC East Division and is seventh in on-base percentage (.516).
Gavin Stowell – Highland (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week)
Stowell delivered a dominant performance for Highland in game three of a four-game series against Fort Scott, limiting the Greyhounds to three hits and striking out six in a complete-game shutout win as HCC picked up a 2-0 win. The shutout win was just the second time this season that Fort Scott had been shutout as the Greyhounds are averaging over 8.6 runs per contest in 35 games this season.
