NJCAA Releases Men's Basketball All-America Teams, Six From KJCCC Earn All-American Honors

CHARLOTTE, NC – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released their 2024-25 Men’s Basketball All-America teams with six Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference men’s basketball players picking up All-America honors for their play throughout the season.
The six players represent five different KJCCC institutions, with Barton Community College the lone KJCCC team to have multiple players named to the All-America teams. Also having a player earn All-America honors were NJCAA National Tournament qualifiers Cowley College, Johnson County Community College, and Kansas City Kansas Community College while Garden City Community College also had a player named to the NJCAA All-America teams.
Marcus Whitlock Jr. (Cowley) NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball First Team All-American
Named both the KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Most Valuable Player and Newcomer of the Year, Whitlock Jr. was an integral piece to Cowley’s KJCCC regular season and NJCAA Region 6 Tournament title as the Tigers advanced to the NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball National Tournament quarterfinal round while finishing the year with a 30-5 overall record. Averaging 16.0 points per game, Whitlock Jr. shot over 47 percent from the field and over 42 percent from beyond the arc while grabbing 3.9 rebounds per game and recording a 1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, Whitlock Jr. added 29 total blocks and had 57 steals (fifth-best in KJCCC) while upping his numbers to 17.0 points, 1.3 assists, and 0.9 blocks per game during conference play. Nationally, Whitlock Jr. ranked 11th in made three-point field goals and 12th in total minutes played (1,058).
Antonio Chol (Garden City) NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Second Team All-American
The third-leading scorer in the KJCCC this season, Chol averaged 19.5 points per game in 30 games played while making 29 starts for Garden City and grabbing 7.6 rebounds per contest. A First-Team All-KJCCC selection, Chol ranked in the top 10 in the KJCCC in made three-point field goals (89), three-point field goal percentage (39.7 percent), free-throw percentage (83.0 percent), total rebounds (227), rebounds per game (7.6), and total blocks (46).
Brent Moss (Barton) NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Second Team All-American
Helping Barton to their second-straight NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball National Tournament appearance, Moss was an NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball All-Tournament Team selection and led the KJCCC in rebounding with 10.2 rebounds per game while ranking fifth in scoring average (17.2 points per game). Starting all 34 games for Barton this season, Moss shot over 51 percent from the floor and ranked eighth nationally in rebounds per game.
Keandre Kindell (Barton) NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Honorable Mention All-American
Barton’s second-leading scorer and helping the Cougars to a 26-9 overall record and appearance at the 2025 NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball National Tournament, Kindell started all 35 games for Barton and scored 15.8 points per contest while dishing out 5.1 assists per game. Playing the fourth-most minutes of any NJCAA D1 Men’s Basketball player this year (1,145 minutes), Kindell ranked 12th nationally in free-throw percentage (88.6 percent) and 14th in total steals (76) to go along with the 17th most assists (180) of all NJCAA D1 players.
Brandon Mann (Johnson County) NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball Second Team All-American
The best statistical field goal shooter in KJCCC Division 2 this season, Mann shot 56.1 percent from the floor and averaged 14.3 points per game while leading the Johnson County to a KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball regular season title and appearance in the NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball National Tournament where the Cavaliers finished eighth. Adding 6.0 rebounds per game, Mann also finished the season with 83 assists, a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio, and 25 total steals.
BJ Stewart (KCKCC) NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball First Team All-American
The KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Most Valuable Player, Stewart was the second-highest score in the KJCCC this season and left his mark on the league by leading the conference in made field goals, ranking second in blocks, and grabbing the fifth-most rebounds of any KJCCC D2 player. The sophomore reached double figures in scoring in 31 of 34 games played this season, which included a season-high of 32 points in a non-conference game against Hutchinson while also providing 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per contest.
