KJCCC announces D-I and D-II men’s soccer all-conference selections
The all-conference teams for men's soccer in the East Division, West Division and Division II were announced today by the KJCCC today. Additionally, the East and West Division announced their Players of the Year, Defensive Players of the Year and Coaches of the Year.

East Player of the Year: Connor Pugh – Coffeyville
Coffeyville sophomore forward Connor Pugh finished the season with seven goals scored and three assists for 17 points. Three of his seven goals led to game winning scores. His efforts helped the Ravens to an outright KJCCC East Division championship, the first in team history. In week two of the season, Pugh was selected as the KJCCC Player of the Week after netting three goals and an assist in a 7-1 win over Johnson County.
East Defender of the Year: Kyle Reese – Johnson County
A second-team all-conference selection last year, Kyle Reese proved to be a shutdown defender again this season. Reese is described as a technical center back who reads the game well, has great positioning and is good on the ball.
East Coach of the Year: Jerrid Schicke – Coffeyville
Coaching in his sixth season, Jerrid Schicke led Coffeyville to a 6-3-1 mark in conference play, giving the Ravens its first outright conference championship in program history. Coffeyville was co-champions in 2011 and 2013. Overall, Schicke led Coffeyville reach the semi-finals of the Plains District Tournament and finish with a 9-4-1 mark, the most wins as the Ravens leader.
West Player of the Year: Felipe D'Agostini - Barton
Felipe D'Agostini, now a two-time first-team all-conference selection, led the KJCCC Division I West Division in scoring with 14 goals, seven assists for 35 points. Overall in conference play, he was second in goals, third in assists and second in points, and led the league with five game-winning scores. D'Agostini produced four multiple-goal games, and had one multi-assist effort. D'Agostini was honored by the KJCCC three times as Player of the Week, earning the honors in weeks, one, three and seven.
West Defender of the Year: Alvaro Gabancho - Cowley
Cowley sophomore defender Alvaro Gabancho was the leader behind a Tigers' defensive unit that allowed just 19 goals, produced six shutouts and posted a goals against average of 1.33. He also helped out on the offensive end with two goals and an assist for five points.
West Coach of the Year: Ruy Vaz - Cowley
In just his third season, Ruy Vaz guided Cowley to its second conference champion in team history. The Tigers finished 9-1-0 in conference play and were 11-3-0 overall, runner-up in the Plains District Tournament and ranked 13th in the final NJCAA Division I poll. Vaz now stands 44-7-2 over his career at Cowley.
