Neosho County Sweeps 2024-25 All-KJCCC/Region 6 Division 2 Men's Soccer Awards
COLBY, Kan. – Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Men’s Soccer regular season champion Neosho County Community College has swept the the 2024-25 KJCCC/NJCAA Region 6 postseason men’s soccer awards with Elliot Chadderton earning Coach of the Year honors while Callum Niven has earned Offensive Player of the Year and Joe Taylor has been named Defensive Player of the Year.
2024 All-KJCCC/NJCAA Region 6 Division 2 Men’s Soccer Selections
COLBY, Kan. – Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Men’s Soccer regular season champion Neosho County Community College has swept the the 2024-25 KJCCC/NJCAA Region 6 postseason men’s soccer awards with Elliot Chadderton earning Coach of the Year honors while Callum Niven has earned Offensive Player of the Year and Joe Taylor has been named Defensive Player of the Year.
Elliott Chadderton – Neosho County (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year)
Leading Neosho County to a second-consecutive KJCCC Division 2 men’s soccer regular season title, Coach Chadderton led Neosho County to an unbeaten 7-0-1 mark in the KJCCC regular season while also clinching an NJCAA Region 6/9 postseason tournament title on Tuesday night as the Panthers will host the NJCAA Division 2 Plains District Tournament Title game on Saturday evening against Iowa Lakes Community College. NCCC finished the regular season with a 14-1-2 record with their lone loss coming against number two ranked and defending National Champion Iowa Lakes while winning the final nine games of the regular season. In KJCCC play this season, Neosho went 7-0-1 while outscoring opponents 30-7 with three wins coming by shutout.
Callum Niven – Neosho County (KJKCCC Division 2 Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Year)
Running away with the KJCCC Division 2 men’s soccer scoring title, Callum Niven tallied 17 goals in the regular season which included a game with four goals against Hesston and a six-goal performance at Southeast Community College. Niven also ranked third in the KJCCC in assists with nine while leading the KJCCC in both total points (45) and shots (59) to go along with three game-winning goals which ranked second in the KJCCC. Nationally, Niven ranks eighth in points and ninth in goals among all NJCAA Division 2 men’s soccer players.
Joe Taylor – Neosho County (KJKCCC Division 2 Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year)
One of just three players for Neosho County that started every game that he has appeared in this season, Joe Taylor helped the Panthers allow just 15 total goals this season which included four matches against nationally ranked opponents while allowing one or fewer goals in each of the last 15 matches. Nationally, NCCC ranks fourth in goals against average (0.79) out of 103 teams, tied for fifth in total goals allowed (15), and seventh in shutouts (9).
