Little Change For KJCCC Schools In NJCAA Men's Soccer Rankings Set Up Big Matchups This Week
CHARLOTTE, NC – Following strong moves up the rankings in last week’s NJCAA Men’s Soccer Division 1 and 2 Week 1 polls last week, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has held their spots within the latest update of the national rankings released by the NJCAA on Monday, September 9th.
NJCAA Division 1 Men's Soccer Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – Following strong moves up the rankings in last week’s NJCAA Men’s Soccer Division 1 and 2 Week 1 polls last week, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has held their spots within the latest update of the national rankings released by the NJCAA on Monday, September 9th.
With four total teams ranked and one additional team receiving votes, three of the four teams in the rankings are ranked within the top seven of their respective polls with all four teams ranked within the top 15.
Maintaining their top 10 spots in the NJCAA Division 1 men’s soccer poll was Cowley who is ranked number four this week while Barton is ranked number seven as the two teams are a combined 8-1-1 while outscoring opponents 36-7. Holding down the number seven spot in the NJCAA Division 2 men’s soccer poll is Johnson County after picking up a 10-1 home win over State fair before opening district play with a 2-1 road win at Central Community College last Saturday. The Cavaliers will face another stiff test this Wednesday when they travel to Chanute for a 7:30 PM matchup with number 12-ranked Neosho County Community College as the Panthers moved up two spots in this week’s poll. Also receiving rankings consideration is Allen County Community College as the Red Devils earned a 2-0 road win at Hesston to open KJCCC play last Friday.
In addition to the Johnson County at Neosho matchup on Wednesday night, the conference will see both Coffeyville and Cowley host NJCAA Division 1 number 20 ranked Lewis & Clark Community College as the Red Ravens will play the Trailblazers on Tuesday before seeing Cowley host L&C on Wednesday. The week will then be capped off Saturday evening when Johnson County returns home to host Allen County Community College in a 7 PM kickoff in a matchup of two teams expected to contend for the conference title this season.
