COLBY, Kan. – Taking down two top 10 teams on their way to the 2024 NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer Plains District Tournament title, the Neosho County Community College men's soccer team has earned the number two overall seed in the upcoming NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer National Tournament.  

Ending the regular season on a nine-match winning streak, the Panthers added two more wins in the NJCAA Region 6/9 tournament before avenging their lone loss of the season in the Plains District Tournament title game with a 2-0 win over previously number two ranked and defending National Champion Iowa Lakes Community College. Neosho County entered postseason play ranked number five in the final NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer poll released on October 28, 2024, and is paired in pool "B" with number seven seed Pearl River Community College who was ranked number 10 in the final NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer poll and 11 seed Heartland Community College who entered the postseason unranked before winning the Central District Title.

An extremely competitive National Tournament is expected to take place as no team enters the 12-team tournament with an unbeaten record as Neosho is one of eight teams in the tournament with two or fewer losses this season. The Panthers will open pool "B" with the second game of the tournament on Sunday, November 17th at 1:45 PM (EST) against 11-seed Heartland Community College, a team that NCCC defeated by a score of 3-1 in the regular season finale on October 26th. Seventh-seed Pearl River will then take on the Hawks at 1:45 PM (EST) on Monday afternoon before seeing Neosho County take on Pearl River in the final match of pool "B" play as the top team from the pool will advance to the National Semifinals against one of the other three pool winners.

All games of the 2024 NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer National Tournament excluding the National Championship match will be streamed live on the NJCAA Network (link below) with the National Championship match scheduled to be streamed live on ESPN+.
