KJCCC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week - Week 3
COLBY, Kan. – Event wins which included a meet record at the Texas State University Bobcat Invitational has led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for Butler’s Itumeleng Nxgabazi and Cowley’s Victor Morfin.
Itumeleng Nxgabazi (Butler) – KJCCC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Nxgabazi had a big week in Texas for Butler. He ran the 1500m at two different meets, Texas State's Bobcat Invitational as well as the University of Texas Relays. At the Texas Relays, Ngxabazi placed second in the 1500m B section, running it in 3:49.96. At the Bobcat Invitational Nxgabazi set a meet record as well as a personal record, running a time of 3:48.29 and taking first at the meet.
Victor Morfin (Cowley) – KJCCC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Morfin won the high jump at the Cowley College Mark A. Phillips Tiger Invitational and recorded the fifth-best mark in the NJCAA this season (2.02 meters, 6 feet. - 7.5 inches).
