KJCCC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week - Week 6
COLBY, Kan. – For the second-straight week, Butler Community College has picked up Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors with Ainsley Campbell earning honors alongside KJCCC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Ricardo Hayles of Barton Community College.
Ainsley Campbell (Butler) – KJCCC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Campbell finished first in the seeded section of the 800-meter run to become KU Relays Champion. The time of 1:51.60 was a season-best time and beat fellow schools from NJCAA, NCAA Division 3, and NCAA Division 1.
Ricardo Hayles (Barton) - KJCCC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Hayles incurred an injury to his throwing hand during the indoor season and in his second week back threw a mark of 57.71 meters (189 feet 4 inches). It is the second-best throw of his career and would rank amongst the top 20 throws in the history of the NJCAA. It is the farthest throw in NJCAA Region 6 this year and the third-best mark in the NJCAA.
