Cross country runners Awet Beraki (Cloud County) and Louise Cocking (Hutchinson) were named Jayhawk Conference men's and women's Runners of the Week.

Awet Beraki - Cloud County – Sophomore. Awet ran a lifetime PR in his 4th place finish (24:14.2) at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational in Lincoln, NE. The 8K competition had 9 NCAA, 8 NAIA, and 8 NJCAA schools. Awet was the fourth fastest NJCAA athlete in the race with 3 top 5 junior college schools.

Louise Cocking - Hutchinson – Sophomore. Ran a PR of 18:56 which is her first time breaking the 19 minute barrier. She was the top JUCO finisher (4th overall). Strong comeback so far this season after developing a stress fracture in her foot last spring (track season).
