KJCCC Cross Country Athletes of the Week - Week 8

Cross country runners Dennis Mutai (Garden City) and Edith Valdez (Dodge City) were named Jayhawk Conference men's and women's Runners of the Week.

Dennis Mutai - Garden City - Placed third at Mid States Classic, clocked a time of 24:24.15, one of the top marks in the 225-person race. Fastest JUCO runner in the field by a minute and four seconds.

Edith Valdez - Dodge City - Won the Benedictine Raven Challenge behind a time of 19:13. She posted the best time of the 60-plus field of runners and won the race by nearly 10 seconds while helping the Conquistadors take second place as a team.
