2025 D2 Softball All-KJCCC Teams
COLBY, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has announced the 2025 KJCCC D2 Softball All-KJCCC teams and winners of the major postseason honors. The awards, which were voted on by each of the league head coaches, include three individuals from Cowley College bringing home major accolades.
Major award winners from the 2025 regular season are Most Valuable Player and Pitcher of the Year Mikah Vann, Newcomer of the Year Taverli Tennant, and Coach of the Year Jenny Hoyt.
Most Valuable Player/Pitcher of the Year: Mikah Vann (Cowley)
The KJCCC leader in both earned run average (2.14) and saves (3), Mikah Vann seized the opportunity in the circle throughout the year for Cowley as the sophomore returner helped lead the Tigers to a conference crown for the second time in the past three seasons. Vann finished the regular season ranking in the top five in the KJCCC in pitching appearances (34), wins (22), innings pitched (166.2), strikeouts (182), and batting average against (.180). Against conference foes, Vann had an ERA of 1.51 and went 11-1 with two saves in 78.2 innings pitched and 90 strikeouts with an average of 8.01 strikeouts per game. Nationally, Vann ranks seventh in saves, 11th in wins, and 13th in strikeouts.
Newcomer of the Year: Taverli Tennant (Cowley)
Leading the second-best offense by batting average in the KJCCC, Tennant finished the regular season with the second-best batting average in the conference (.494) and led the league with 76 RBI, 14 more than any other player in the conference. Ranking second in the conference in runs scored (66) and third in home runs (16), Tennant led the league in hits (81), doubles (24), triples (5), and total bases (163) while recording the ninth-most stolen bases in the league (18). Nationally, Tennant ranks 13th in total bases, 17th in RBI, and 21st in hits while also ranking in the top 20 in slugging percentage (.994).
Coach of the Year: Jenny Hoyt (Cowley)
Named KJCCC Coach of the Year for the third time in her career, Hoyt led the Tigers to a conference crown for the second time in the past three years. Cowley finished the regular season with a 20-2 record in conference play and a 38-12 overall record while ending the season on a six-game winning streak to earn their highest national ranking of the season by being ranked number 16 in the NJCAA Division 2 Softball Top 25 poll. Since being named head coach in 2015, Hoyt has led the Tigers to four KJCCC regular season titles, and two NJCAA Plains District Titles.
