KJCCC Division 2 Softball Players of the Week - Week 10
COLBY, Kan. – Leading their respective teams to unbeaten weeks last week, which included doubleheader sweeps of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference opponents, Neosho County Community College utility player Kamri Naff and Kansas City Kansas Community College pitcher Alyssa Droge have each earned KJCCC D2 Softball Player of the Week honors for week 10.
Kamri Naff – Neosho County (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Player of the Week)
Naff had a big week for Neosho County as the Panthers swept a KJCCC road doubleheader over Cloud County to finish the week 2-0. In the opening game against the T-Birds, Naff went four-for-five with two doubles and drove in one in addition to scoring once to help NCCC pick up a 13-4 win. Game two saw Naff add another two hits including a home run while driving in four runs and adding another two runs scored while throwing a one-hit shutout in the circle. For the week, Naff had a .750 batting average and 1.375 slugging percentage.
Alyssa Droge – KCKCC (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Alyssa Droge threw 14 shutout innings last week while helping number 22 ranked KCKCC to a 3-0 week with a win over Southwestern Iowa Community College and a doubleheader sweep of KJCCC foe Fort Scott. Tossing a complete-game one-hitter against the Spartans in a 7-0 Blue Devil win, Droge struck out six against SWCC before tossing her second shutout of the week in a 3-0 win against the Greyhounds with six more strikeouts. This season, Droge leads the KJCCC in pitching wins (15), strikeouts (129), and Earned Run Average (2.18).
